Summary of Research

With the development trend of smart grid, it is expected that more and more distributed energy resources (DER) including distributed generation (DG) and energy storage will be introduced in electric power systems in the near future. As a radically different way to deliver electricity, DER technologies are expected to result in fundamental changes to the current power system structure. In this context, our research interests focus on the integration of DER into electricity grid. Our work is categorized into three primary areas of study: (1) control and protection for DER interconnection, (2) smart grid solutions for DER management, and (3) power quality issues related to DER interconnection.
