4th Year Projects


2024/25 - Novel Advanced Thin-Film Devices & Circuits

This project will entail the design, fabrication, and testing of devices and circuits based on advanced thin-film technologies. Depending on the interests of the group, metal-oxide, polymer, or graphene semiconducting materials will be used as the starting point to design and fabricate test devices that will then be characterized and modelled. The culmination of project will be the use of these modelled devices to fabricate an operational circuit based on chosen technology.

This year the project will be aimed at the design and evaluation of thin film elements that will act as “memristors” to be used in arrays to form Cellular Automata or Neural Networks. The devices will be printed onto flexible substrates and designed to be integrated with other printable circuit components.
